Mailers are effectively more like controllers in Rails, and web controllers share rendering and filters code with mail controllers in Merb.

This really has been working well for us in Merb.

I wasn’t clear enough. ActiveORM will be an internal API only; not something users will use. It’s so that Rails can handle any ORM for form helpers et al.

I hope you will post some more about ActiveORM and where it gets used. Isn’t part of the choosing your own ORM the ability to the one with the best interface? One of the thing that drew me to Merb was the bright line between the M and the CV. I’d personally like to see this stick around.
